Abt and Renault both confirmed that they are sticking with their current drivers in season three.

It brought an end to speculation that Lucas Di Grassi was being primed to join the new Jaguar Formula E team. Current teammate Daniel Abt was also confirmed alongside him.

Hours later, Renault e.Dams – one of the last teams to announce their lineup for this season – confirmed that Nico Prost and Sebastien Buemi would both race for the French team in 2016/17.

Di Grassi and Buemi are currently going head to head for the Drivers’ Championship, with only three races remaining after the cancellation of the Moscow ePrix.

Anthony Davidson recently hinted that he was interested in one of the Jaguar seats. reported that there is likely to be one British driver in the lineup, and the season could fit round his other commitments.

Nelson Piquet Jr was also rumoured to be a contender for a cockpit at Jaguar, however it was announced recently that he would continue his relationship with NEXTEV.

So just who will be announced at Battersea Park in July? With the Williams Engineering partnership, a driver from their development programme could be a safe bet for one of the drives.

Jean-Eric Vergne could be another contender, with rumours that he is likely to be dropped at the end of the season refusing to go away. His teammate Sam Bird has also been mentioned in relation to the seat.

To be perfectly honest, it could be almost anyone. It will be interesting to see how quickly teams move to lock in their talent, and who is still to be confirmed come the first weekend in July.

Who would you choose for your Formula E lineup?
